dsa requirements to become a driving instructor
In order to become an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) you must:
- Hold a full UK or EU unrestricted car driving licence. (ie not have an automatic licence.)
- Have held it for a total of at least 4 years (you may start to prepare for the examinations before this but cannot be entered onto the register until you have held your full licence for 4 years).
- Must not have been disqualified from driving at any time in the 4 years prior to being entered in the register.
- Be a fit and proper person to have your name entered in the register.
- Pass the register qualifying examinations and then register within 12 months of passing the final examination.
